Somewhat friends only. No need to comment, you can just add me and I will add you back.

from "Siesta in Xbalba" by Allen Ginsberg [Sep 27 2009 @ 11:50PM]
Dreaming back I saw
an eternal kodachrome
souvenir of a gathering
of souls at a party,
crowded in an oval flash:
cigarettes, suggestions,
laughter in drunkeness,
broken sweet conversation,
acquaintance in the halls,
faces posed together,
stylized gestures
odd familiar visages
and singular recognitions
that registered indifferent
greeting across time:
Anson reading Horace
with a rolling head,
white-handed Hohnsbean
camping gravely
with an absent glance,
bald Kingsland drinking
out of a huge glass,
Dusty in a party dress,
Durgin in white shoes
gesturing from a chair,
Keck in a corner waiting
for subterranean music,
Helen Parker lifting
her hands in surprise:
all posturing in one frame,
superficially gay
or tragic as may be,
illumed with the fatal
character and intelligent
actions of their lives.

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists are playing at the Smell Sunday morning and part of me wants to go for high school's sake. Plus, pancakes!

Saturday night fever [Aug 22 2009 @ 09:10PM]
Tonight I could:
a) go see a bunch of bands/djs I don't know,
b) watch 8 1/2 and eat pizza on my couch,
c) go see District Nine with Geoff,
d) listen to Sueno Sicodelico and Raw Power on repeat,
e) find a party,
f) do some combination thereof.

It's a fucking toss up

Man at his best [Aug 15 2009 @ 09:50AM]
One of the reasons I love reading Esquire is because it reminds me of how much I love men.

It's been way too long [Aug 09 2009 @ 02:58AM]

I don't know why I like "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield so much but I do.

I Got Hair On My Chest, I Look Good Without A Shirt: 2009 In Boys In Song. [Jul 09 2009 @ 06:53PM]
Kings of Convenience - Little Kids
Yo La Tengo - Let's Save Tony Orlando's House
Broadcast - Before We Begin
Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town
Beat Happening - Indian Summer
Leonard Cohen - Suzanne
Bad Brains - Sailin' On
The Kinks - Victoria
Tom Waits - Goin' Out West
Bob Dylan - 4th Time Around
Donna Summer - I Feel Love
Bullion - Let's Go Away For A While
Bauhaus - Third Uncle
New Order - Age Of Consent

While it's a bit annoying that I can't listen to these songs without thinking about a certain guy, it's kind of nice, too, because the only memories conjured up are the good ones.
